A terrifying new street drug which can turn its users into the ‘Incredible Hulk’ and costs just £2 has sparked fears across England.
The dangerous drug called ‘Monkey Dust’ is synthetically produced and is credited with sparking psychotic and violent outbursts in users. The same drug was blamed for a series of violent ‘face-eating attacks’ in the United States not so long ago.
Due to the drug’s sinister side effects, it is also known as ‘Cannibal Dust’ and ‘Zombie Dust’.
The drug can cause hallucinations, agitation and severe paranoia while also stopping users from feeling pain. It can also induce very high body temperatures resulting in hypothermia, The Mirror reported.
The drug is said to cause lesions to appear on the users’ skin and make their sweat smell distinctively like prawns and vinegar.
Police are now warning the public to stay away from the drug due to its horrific side results. A police response officer in Stoke-on-Trent, PC Rich Frost, told Sky News how the synthetic drug gives its users an incredible strength.
He said: ‘When you are trying to restrain them it’s like you are dealing with someone who thinks they are the Incredible Hulk, the strength is unbelievable.’
Stoke was described as ‘something like a scene from the Living Dead’ by a West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) paramedic and the city’s emergency services are said to be dealing with an ‘epidemic’.
The drug which can potentially be fatal sells just at £2 in the streets of Britain. Although it first emerged nearly 2 years ago, its use has reportedly risen to a dangerous extent this summer.
At least 170 incidents involving the usage of ‘Monkey Dust’ have been logged by WMAS since April, out of which 131 came from North Staffordshire.
The horrific drug is also becoming common in Worcestershire, where the authorities issued a warning earlier this year.
‘It completely distorts reality for the user and they often have no recollection of their actions while under the influence,’ Detective Chief Inspector Carl Moore said.
‘We are urging the public not to be tempted to take any illegal drugs – you don’t know what they are made of, where they have come from or what effects they may have on you.’
